Our Institution:  Is registered with IGNOU to offer Certificate, Diploma and two-year post secondary education leading to an Associate Degree.

The rationale for the establishment of our Community College is to offer opportunities to all sections of society particularly the marginalized and disadvantaged to improve their academic standard and become fit for a good life and responsible job.   It encourages students who may want to attend a three-year degree course but are not academically, personally or economically ready to begin study in the formal system.

Criteria for NIOS Students & Guidelines for Admission

1. Generally Open School is for Kalimpong students.

2. Any students desiring to follow the courses of Open School may join Cluny Community College after completion of class VIII.

3. The first two years of our Course Study is preparation of class X, XI, XII NIOS.

4. Apart from the Examination preparation, we include a course on Life-Coping Skills.

5. Communication in English in English is vitally important so we make available for our students “English for Business Communications”. This is an established Internationally Recognized “City & Guilds”, London Examination. This qualification tests the learner’s ability to understand and produce effective business communications.

Bridge Course

Students who have not cleared their NIOS Examinations and other board Examinations may join us. The students will be given bridge Courses from the Month of June 2010.

Documents of NIOS Examinations along with fees must be submitted during the admission.

For Class X 

1. Birth Certificate /Transfer Certificate from Government recognized school countersigned by the District Inspector of Schools/Affidavit signed by a First Class Executive Magistrate in Original (3 Xerox Copies)
2. Residential Certificate / Ration Card/Voter’s Identity Card/ passport (3 Xerox Copies )

For Class XII 

1. 1. Admit Card /Identity Card of Class x board Examination (3 Xerox Copies)
2. Mark sheet of class X Board Examination ( 3 Xerox copies)
3. Transfer Certificate  ( 3 Xerox copies)
4. Diploma / Pass certificate ( 3 Xerox copies)

Hotel management

We are particularly careful to enable our students to pursue high standards of personal and community basic hospitality. We encourage friendly Professionalism based on sound knowledge and guided by moral Principles.

Unit Profile: Cluny Community College is run by the Cluny Community College Team. The main building lies in Cluny Women's College premises. It works in collaboration with St. Michael's School, Darjeeling for National Open School. St. Philomena's School, Kalimpong and St. Xavier's School, Pedong give active and effective collaboration for Open School.

Vision: With Jesus our Guru and Bl. Anne Marie our leader, we empower the marginalised and unemployed youth to become fit for life and fit for a job.

Special Feature: We seek to develop life coping skills and encourage all students to develop inborn skills - music, singing, art and dancing. We are indebted to Orange Village Hotel in Gangtok who give all our Community College students the industrial training after which they get secure jobs and good reason to celebrate life.
